See hk's effective configuration and where each value hails from. hk merges the settings from several sources in precedence order, the highest rank first: CLI flags > Environment variables > Git config (local) > Git config (global) > Project config (hk.pkl) > User config (~/.config/hk/config.pkl) > Built-in defaults.
